Artist's Description
Part of a series of paintings entitled Celestial Places. This series has been executed using a process that could be called brain imaging. Most artists use it. They just dont realize it. The artist begins with an idea in mind and develops it progressively as the image appears from emerging shapes and color combinations. These can be completed using a minimal or full color palette. When working in full color, the brainwaves must obviously increase as more energy is expended. This painting was produced with a minimal palette.
About Jim Gola
Born in Philadelphia in the late thirties, Jim Gola grew up heavily influenced by art and the cultural atmosphere contained in this bustling city. The city of brotherly love is still a thriving east coast art market that comprises some of the oldest art schools and galleries in America. Jim admits to spending numerous hours at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and the Philadelphia Museum of Art as a youngster. Admiring much of the work of Americas past masters such as Inness, Moran, Chase, Homer and Bierstadt, among others. He then started to generate his lifelong love of oil painting.
